Mankind Bandystar Pup Deworming Suspension for Puppies (20ml)
Mankind Bandystar Pup (Fenbendazole) Deworming Oral Suspension for Puppies
Mankind Bandystar Pup Oral Suspension is India's most trusted Fenbendazole-based deworming suspension for puppies, formulated specifically for the early and critical weeks of your puppy's life. Made by Mankind Pharma's Pet Division — one of India's largest pharmaceutical companies — Bandystar Pup targets the roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms that are endemic across India's warm, humid climate. Given that puppies in Indian cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Chennai are routinely exposed to Toxocara canis and Ancylostoma caninum through contaminated soil and vertical maternal transmission, early deworming is not optional — it's essential. Bandystar Pup's palatable oral suspension makes dosing easy, even with reluctant puppies, and it delivers vet-grade protection at an accessible price.
What Is Mankind Bandystar Pup Oral Suspension?
-
A Trusted, Safe Medicine: Bandystar Pup is a liquid dewormer made by Mankind Pharma (one of India's top drug companies), and it uses a well-known ingredient called Fenbendazole that has been used safely by vets worldwide for decades.
-
Easy for Young Puppies: Because it is a liquid rather than a pill, it is very easy to give to puppies as young as 2 weeks old by either mixing it into their food or putting it directly into their mouth with a syringe.
What Does Bandystar Pup Treat? — Worm Types & Indian Context
Bandystar Pup is a liquid medicine that kills four common types of worms found in Indian puppies.
-
Roundworms are the most frequent type, and almost every puppy in India is born with them. They pass from the mother to the baby through the placenta or milk. You might notice your puppy has a bloated, "pot-bellied" stomach or see them vomiting up worms. These worms are a health risk to your family, too, as they can spread to children.
-
Hookworms are very dangerous because they hook onto the gut and suck blood. This often leads to anaemia, where the puppy becomes very weak and has dark, tarry poop. Puppies usually pick these up from playing in contaminated soil in parks or gardens.
-
Whipworms live in the large intestine and are harder to spot. They often cause chronic diarrhoea and weight loss that people mistake for a simple stomach upset. Bandystar Pup is one of the few safe medicines that effectively clear these out.
-
India is a High-Risk Zone because the warm weather and monsoon humidity in India help worm eggs survive in the soil for a long time. Whether a puppy comes from a breeder, a shelter, or the street, they almost certainly carry multiple types of worms. Most owners do not see symptoms until the infestation is already bad. This is why Indian vets suggest starting treatment when the puppy is just two weeks old.

How Does Fenbendazole Work? — Mechanism of Action
-
Targeted Action: Fenbendazole destroys the internal "scaffolding" of a worm's cells.
-
Starvation: Without this structure, the worm cannot process nutrients or divide cells.
-
Paralysis: The worms eventually become paralysed and die.
-
Safe for Puppies: The medicine is designed to attack worm cells specifically without harming your puppy's cells.
What to Expect During Treatment?
-
Fast Start: The medicine begins working within 24 hours of the first dose.
-
Clearing Out: You will usually see the dead worms in your puppy's poop 2 to 4 days after finishing the medicine.
-
Standard Timing: Most puppies need the medicine for 3 days in a row.
-
Severe Cases: For very bad infections, a vet might extend the treatment to 5 or 7 days.
-
Repeat Treatment: One round does not provide permanent protection; you must deworm your puppy regularly because India's environment makes reinfection very likely.
Puppy Deworming Schedule — When to Use Bandystar Pup?
The following schedule is the standard vet-recommended deworming timeline for Indian puppies. Bandystar Pup is appropriate from the 2-week mark through to 12 weeks of age, after which your vet will transition to adult deworming protocols.

⚠️ Do Not Deworm and Vaccinate on the Same Day!
A very common question from Indian puppy parents: Can I deworm and vaccinate at the same time? The answer is NO. Deworming stresses the immune system slightly, and vaccinations require full immune attention to build protection. Space them at least 7–10 days apart. Deworm first, vaccinate after. Ask your vet for the exact timing for your puppy's schedule.
Dosage & Administration Guide
Bandystar Pup Suspension is dosed by your puppy's body weight. Measure carefully — overdosing a very young puppy carries more risk than underdosing.

How to Give Bandystar Pup to Your Puppy
-
Shake the bottle well before each use to ensure uniform distribution of Fenbendazole.
-
Measure the correct dose using the provided syringe or a clean measuring syringe.
-
Mix into food: for most puppies, mixing the suspension into a small amount of wet food or warm milk is easiest. The suspension has a palatable formulation that most puppies accept readily.
-
Direct oral dosing: gently hold your puppy's muzzle, insert the syringe behind the teeth, and slowly dispense the dose. Hold the muzzle closed gently for a few seconds.
-
Administer at the same time each day — consistency improves compliance and reduces the chance of missed doses.
-
Complete all 3 days of the course even if your puppy appears well after day 1. Incomplete treatment leaves immature worms to develop and re-infest.
Missed Dose Protocol: Give the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue normally. Do not double the dose to make up. Consult your vet if you are unsure.
What Are The Side Effects Of This Puppy Dewormer?
Fenbendazole is one of the best-tolerated antiparasitic drugs in veterinary medicine. When dosed correctly, serious side effects are rare. Most reactions you will observe are actually signs of the deworming working — dead and dying worms being expelled. Here is what to watch for:
|
Frequency |
Side Effects |
What to Do |
|
Common |
Visible worms or segments in stool (24–72 hours) |
Expected — this means the treatment is working. Continue the full course. |
|
Common |
Mild, transient vomiting or loose stool (day 1–2) |
Normal die-off reaction. Ensure your puppy stays hydrated. Resolves within a day. |
|
Uncommon |
Temporary loss of appetite or lethargy |
Monitor — usually resolves within 24 hours. If persisting beyond 48 hours, contact your vet. |
|
Uncommon |
Skin rash or pruritus (rare hypersensitivity) |
Discontinue immediately and consult your vet — may indicate sensitivity to the active ingredients. |
|
Rare |
Severe vomiting, complete anorexia, extreme lethargy |
Seek veterinary attention. Could indicate overdosage or an underlying health condition. |
|
Rare |
Bone marrow suppression (prolonged high-dose use) |
Occurs only with extended off-label dosing. Standard 3-day protocols are safe under vet supervision. |
⚠️ Consult Your Vet Immediately If:
Your puppy shows severe vomiting (more than 3 times), extreme weakness, complete refusal to eat for more than 24 hours, or difficulty breathing after administration. While rare at correct doses, these signs require prompt veterinary evaluation. Bring the product packaging with you to the clinic.
Contraindications & Drug Interactions
-
Do NOT use in puppies younger than 2 weeks of age without direct vet guidance.
-
Use with extreme caution in severely malnourished or debilitated puppies — consult your vet for a modified dosing protocol.
-
Avoid simultaneous administration on the day of vaccination. Space deworming and vaccination at least 7–10 days apart.
-
Avoid use in puppies with known hypersensitivity to Fenbendazole or other benzimidazoles.
-
Use with caution in pregnant dogs — Fenbendazole has some evidence of safety in pregnancy (it is commonly used in pregnant dogs for Toxocara control), but always seek vet approval before deworming a pregnant or lactating dog.
-
Do NOT combine with Levamisole or other anthelmintics without vet guidance — combination anthelmintic use can alter pharmacokinetics.
-
If your puppy is currently on any other medication, inform your Supertails vet before starting Bandystar Pup.
Storage Instructions
-
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat.

FAQs
When should I give Bandystar Pup suspension to my puppy?
Start deworming at 2 weeks of age, then repeat at 4, 6, and 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, continue deworming every 3 months (or more frequently in India's high-risk environment, per your vet's advice). The earlier you start, the better — roundworm transmission from the mother begins before birth.
What is the dosage of Bandystar Pup for puppies?
The standard dose is 50mg of Fenbendazole per kg of body weight daily for 3 consecutive days. Since Bandystar Pup contains 100mg/ml of Fenbendazole, this translates to 0.5ml per kg of body weight per day. Always weigh your puppy before dosing and confirm with your vet for very young or very small puppies.
What does Bandystar Pup treat in puppies?
Bandystar Pup treats roundworm (Toxocara canis), hookworm (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala), and whipworm (Trichuris vulpis) infestations in puppies. These are the most common intestinal worm parasites affecting puppies in India, especially those in contact with outdoor environments or born to undewormed mothers.
Is Bandystar Pup safe for very young puppies?
Yes — Bandystar Pup's Fenbendazole suspension is considered safe from 2 weeks of age at correctly calculated doses. Very young puppies (under 2 weeks) should only be treated under direct veterinary supervision. Always weigh your puppy accurately and consult a Supertails vet if you are unsure about the correct dose for a neonatal puppy.
How many days should I give Bandystar Pup to my puppy?
The standard treatment course is 3 consecutive days — give the correct dose once daily for 3 days in a row. For severe infestations, Giardia, or recurrent worm problems, your vet may extend the course to 5 or 7 days. Complete the full course even if your puppy appears better after day 1.
